Children Who Do Chores Grow Up to be More Successful

In ESL’s Montessori education, practical life (daily living) activities are some of the most important activities. Not only do they help children develop order, concentration, coordination, and independence, but they help children learn to contribute to their families and community.

Here are some chores appropriate for kids age 2 to 4.

1. Assist in making their beds
2. Put away toys/books
3. Help feed a pet
4. Dust
5. Choose day’s outfit and get dressed
6. Help set/clear the table and put away dishes
7. Match socks in the laundry
8. Water the plants
9. Help make and pack lunch
10. Help fold and put away laundry
